Toseina 2 mg/ml solucion oral is a mix of prescription codeine-based cough syrup, soda, and often Jolly Ranchers.

Composition of Toseina
The active substance is codeine phosphate hemihydrate. Each ml of oral solution contains 2 mg of codeine phosphate hemihydrate.
The other ingredients (excipients) are: sodium benzoate (E-211), citric acid monohydrate, hydroxyethyl cellulose, sodium saccharin, aspartame (E-951), sorbitol (E-420), counter flavor, raspberry essence, azorubin ( E-122) and purified water.
How to take Tosein
Follow exactly the instructions of administration of this medicine indicated by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist again.
Doses should be individualized for each patient. The lowest effective dose should be used to control symptoms. The dose can be divided into up to 4 daily doses administered at intervals of not less than 6 hours.
The administration of the medicine is subject to the appearance of symptoms, and the dosage can be reduced as the symptoms disappear.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.
Be aware that many of the effects may be symptoms of your illness and will therefore improve as you begin to feel better.
Although the frequency of adverse effects is not known, as it cannot be estimated from the available data, these are: constipation, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and drowsiness.
Seizures, mental confusion, altered mood (happy or sad) and itching have also been described. Skin rashes may appear in allergic patients.
At high doses and in the long term, it can cause respiratory depression (breathing slowly or with insufficient force).
